Criminal Damage and ASB in South Darenth

15th April 2024

On Friday evening a group of 8 young males vandalised the allotments and stole gardening equipment. They used some of the equipment to cut cut down 2 well established trees at the top left hand corner of the Heathside and then set alight the cradle swing in the playground. Repairs to the playground had just been completed that day. This is on top of further damage to the toilet in the Heathside;

It is believed the same group then went on to cause disturbance at an event that was being held in the Village hall.

Clear images of the males have been captured on cctv and we are waiting for the Police to view them so that this can be taken further.

The damage to the allotments has been reported separately.

If you have any information, please contact Kent Police or Crime stoppers if you wish to remain anonymous.

Costs to repair the playground, toilet and replace the trees will be gathered and presented to the Council .A decision on whether it is financially viable to go ahead with the works will then have to be made.

Many thanks go to the resident who called the Fire Brigade out on Friday evening.
